Black Coffee fans have come out gun-blazing after Pearl Thusi appeared to be throwing a ‘sub’ towards Black Coffee on his historic Grammy-award win. Social media users are now attacking the actress on her Twitter post.

Pearl Thusi had said that she did not take the Grammy Awards seriously because they did not give her preferred artist Wizkid, a win this time around.

Her Twitter post further suggested that the awards ceremony was not really designed for African artists.

She wrote on her Twitter:

“Wiz not winning a Grammy is just another reason I kinda don’t take the Grammys too seriously. It’s a celebratory/fun show with cool statues. African artists have proved they don’t need them but they’re nice to have. But also I could be wrong. That’s just me… all love.”

Her comment left a sour note on Black Coffee fans who felt like she was bitter that a fellow South African star Black Coffe won the award and not her or one of her allies.

Some accuse her of supporting a Nigerian star instead of congratulating her fellow South African artist.

“Black Coffee won that’s what it matters to us South Africans

We proud of our own.

Nigerians Will worry about wizkid”, @ChrisExcel101 said.

“Unfortunately those awards are not for people who get pregnant while they are advertising condoms,” @ Wandile_Ntulie replied to her.

“Same way i stopped taking Netflix seriously when they gave you a TV show just for being light skinnedBut actors like Thuso Mbedu have proved they don’t need Netflix or to be light skinned,” @LeratoN_

“Pearl Thusi just misses trending since Mr Smeg is no longer making her trend 🚮,” @DrPhomolo said.

With all the shade and attacks being thrown at her over her tasteless comment, Pearl Thusi seems unmoved and continues to stand by her words.
