Gomora actress Connie Chiume, who plays the role of MamSonto has returned to the Mzansi Magic telenovela after shooting Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
MamSonto returned to the popular telenovela on Tuesday night (21 December) after waking up from a coma.

CONNIE CHIUME: TEMPORARY EXIT
Actress Connie Chiume who plays the role of MamSonto on Gomora returned to the show after taking a four months break.
She temporarily exited the show to film Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in the United States.
The actress posted a picture of herself in Atlanta on her Instagram account in July and deleted the post.
Her picture sparked rumours that she was shooting the Marvel movie on social media.
MAMSONTO RETURNS TO ‘GOMORA’
Connie Chiume hasn’t appeared on Gomora since she was shot at her workshop by Don’s rival and placed in a coma by doctors.
Her daughter Thati (Katlego Danke) sent her away to a hospital in Cape Town after Don threatened to finish her off.
Fans of the telenovela have been asking about her return since she took a break and are elated about her return.
Viewers saw MamSonto requesting Mazet to return to her house after she moved in with Ntokozo.
Mazet (Siphesihle Ndaba) got shot and paralysed by Don (Israel Matseke-Zulu) after struggling for his gun.
Don eventually got shot and killed by Zodwa and exited the telenovela.
‘BLACK PANTHER’ WITHOUT CHADWICK BOSEMAN
The director of Black Panther Ryan Coogler stated that everyone from the original blockbuster is returning except Chadwick Boseman.
Chadwick Boseman who played the role od T’Challa passed away in August last year from cancer.
Coogler who also wrote the original Black Panther and the sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever told Harpers Bazaar that the sequel will honuor Chadwick Boseman’s legacy.
He also stated that Marvel Studios will not recast the character, but will explore the world of Wakanda and the rich characters introduced in the first film.
