The SABC journalist shared the news of her mum’s death on social media on 11 December. She said she’d be away from social media for some time.
Her mum was buried on Saturday, 18 December.
“Only three days since the passing of my mother, it’s hard. I will be gone for a while. Thanks for all the support and messages of condolences,” she wrote when announcing the news two weeks ago.
In a now deleted tweet that was posted on Monday, 20 December, Chriselda shared a snap from her mum’s funeral on Twitter and said that they have buried her.
On Saturday we buried our beautiful mother. What a dignified goodbye to a woman who did everything for her husband and her children,” she wrote.
She said the feeling of losing her mum was painful.
“Being without a mother is the kind of pain I never thought was humanely possible to feel. Thank you everyone for the messages of condolences,” she wrote.
Her colleagues and Twitter followers sent her messages of love.
Newsreader Lindi Sirame wrote: “So sorry sis, sending you love and prayers.”
“Condolences on the loss Chriselda, praying for strength for you and the family,” wrote Tebogo Ditshego.
Another Twitter user, Lindile Sifile, said he understood Chriselda’s pain.
“Uxolo sisi wam. Womelele. I know the pain. It gets better with time but you won’t forget her and how she made you feel. Andinabo abazali,” he wrote.
