Taking to his Instagram page, Muzi made this exciting announcement, which was met with a positive reception. Fans congratulated the talented actor as his character Nkosi Cele joins the cast.
According to his social media posts, his character is a hardcore family man who does not mind teaching someone a lesson for touching any family member.
“Nkosi Cele. He does laugh. If things go according to HIS plans. He knows what he wants. He has to get it… By any means necessary. He loves his family. You touch one of his and you touch him. Pasop (beware.)”
Muzi Mthabela has nailed every TV character he has played before and it is no brainer that he will kill this one as well.
After his exit on Isibaya, his former colleague Ayanda Borotho wished him well on his future endeavors. “Brother, Friend, Comrade in God and Colleague. Honest soul. What you see is what you get. Unmoved by circumstances. Unshakable by people. With a Spirit that ROARS like lions.
“Farewell King. The best of God’s fruits are being harvested. The seed has come to fruition. Abantu abazi. Those who have walked this journey with you know what this means. No one deserves it more. May your humility continue to be your greatness. And your light…be your guide. @muzimthabela To God be ALL the glory.”
In other casting news, Khanyi Mbau has joined the very popular Showmax series, The Wife as Zandile who is Nkosana’s wife.

In a press release, Khanyi admitted that the task was daunting, “The greatest challenge for an actress is being a part of a story that everyone knows,” she says. “That brings a lot of expectations that you need to live up to. There’s a cult around this show so there’s a lot of pressure. And before being part of the cast, I am a fan, so I really don’t want to drop the ball. For me to depict this character is really something that can either make me or break me, to be quite honest with you, but I love the thrill.”
Gugu, the showrunner, reckons Khanyi’s addition makes sense, “Khanyi is talented and had the range so necessary for this role,” she says. “She has depth and rawness; she’s able to tap into the dark side that Zandile has, as well as give that vulnerability that we’ll see, especially with the love between her and Nkosana. As a production team, we’ve worked with her before, and we know she’ll bring that grit that is needed for the character of Zandile.”
